About This Song
"Be in the moment. Truly appreciate this time."
This is advice I’ve never been able to follow. I find it difficult to “be in the moment”.
But I think that’s okay.
I think life is often excessively meaningful — it overwhelms with meaning. You can’t take it all in at once. Which is why "enjoying" the moment can feel so difficult.
So I wrote this song to remind myself that it’s okay if I’m not “in the moment.” After all, I have a lifetime to reflect on and enjoy these memories. In fact, I'll often only discover the joy of a time in hindsight.
And I find that comforting.
Lyrics
Time strings us right along
Hidden ball of yarn
Rolling at our feet
As hindsight often shows
Things are better than we know
Become sacred in memories eye
Tell the light
Tell the glow
Tell them what we all want to know:
How the wind
How it blows
Plants seeds before we were born
That feed the motherless colts
Tell the light
Tell the glow
Tell them what we all want to know:
How the wind
How it blows
Plants seeds before we were born
Bringing change that we call good
Lover of life
Lay low and love me
Scent of the earth
Sand hits the rolling sea
I saw my friends
Oh my family
The story of life
Oh I'm trembling
